Trio of Penticton Vees crack NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings

Ten BCHLers included on prospects list ahead of 2024 NHL Draft

Three Penticton Vees have been included on Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings, ahead of the 2024 NHL Draft.

Max Heise, Connor MacPherson, and Francesco Dell’Elce represent three of the 10 BCHLers on the latest prospects list, released Friday, Jan. 12.

Heise is ranked as the 171st North American skater, with MacPherson pegged at No. 179 and Dell’Elce checking in at No. 197.

While Heise and MacPherson are projected as sixth-round picks, Dell’Elce is currently penned as a projected seventh-rounder.

This year’s NHL Draft is set for Las Vegas on June 28 and 29.

All three Vees are BCHL rookies in 2023-2024.

MacPherson, 18, sits third in team scoring with 29 points in 32 games. His twin brother, Ryan, is also in his first season with the Vees and was drafted by the Philidelphia Flyers during the 2023 NHL Draft.

Heise, 17, has nine points in 28 games this season, including a hat trick on Oct. 21 against the Merritt Centennials.

Dell’Elce, meanwhile, leads the Vees’ blue line in scoring with 27 points in 32 games. The 18-year-old also sits atop all rookie BCHL defenceman in points.

Penticton (22-6-2-2) returns to the ice on Friday, Jan. 12, when they host the Vernon Vipers (19-11-1-0) at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
