Thompson Okanagan Rockets in Richmond

Local, Colby Williams assists in first goal for the Rockets against the Ravens.

November 17, and 18, 2012 saw the Thompson Okanagan Rockets in Richmond at the Richmond Oval to take on the Pacific Ravens.

Scoring opened up at 18;59 of the first period with a goal for the Ravens to lead the game 1-0.  At 9:36 of the first period saw Ali Roine of Rockets tie it up, with assists going to Courtney Morice and Breanna Berndsen.  Bernsden for the Rockets at 3:16 of the first period to take the lead. At 17:59 of the third period the Ravens tied it up.  Roine got the go ahead goal for the Rockets with about 3 minutes left in the third period.  Rockets won 3 – 2.

Ravens opened up the second game with scoring the first goal game of the game at 7:38 of the first period. Ravens scored again at 11:23 of the second period to take a 2-0 lead.  Rockets got their first goal from Breanna Bernsden with assists going to Colby Williams and Ali Roine.  Bernsden got their second goal at 5:51 for the third period to tie it up.  Courtney Morice getting the assist.

The game ended as a 2 – 2 tie.

Great weekend of hockey for the girls.

They play at home this upcoming weekend against the Kootenay Wildcats.

The Female Midget AAA League was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite Female Midget teams.
