Blake Sittler stopped all 27 shots he faced and defenceman Lucas Sadownyk had three assists as the Princeton Posse shut out the North Okanagan Knights 4-0 in game three of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League second-round series Monday night.
The Posse went one for six on the powerplay and played a stout defensive road game to avoid going down 3-0 in the series.
It took a while for the puck to find the back of the net at either end of the ice as Tyson Horiachka scored for Princeton in the final minute of the second period.
The Knights got into some penalty trouble in the third period, and Justice Leowen made them pay on the Posse powerplay with his fourth goal of the playoffs.
Vinay Junek added a goal at the 14 minute mark of the third, and added an empty net goal four and a half minutes later to bring the game to its final score of 4-0.
With the best-of-seven series now 2-1 for the Knights, game four will be played at Armstrong’s Nor-Val Centre Tuesday, March 12, at 7:15 p.m.
