A senior's point of view

The public discussion over the aquatic centre referendum is interesting, both sides of the question have valid meaningful points.

Dear Editor;

The public discussion over the aquatic centre referendum is interesting, both sides of the question have valid meaningful points.

Adding two points that have been little touched upon, I would suggest that the debate is almost identical to that debate over the building and maintaining of the arena some 40 years ago.  I’m grateful that the citizen’s decided to build the arena and (in my view) it has been a success.

Secondly, the health benefits of the pool should now be underestimated.  As a person with recent health issues, I was advised by my M.D. to try water exercise.  As it was late winter, I bought a pool pass and trundled off to the Penticton pool.  I was surprised to see so many seniors utilizing the exercise therapy ordered by their M.D.s.  A few, like myself, were from Princeton.

So as a senior citizen and rural resident, I’ll be voting YES.

Respectfully,
