Apr 17, 1925 - Apr 23, 2018
With sadness we announce the passing of Violet "Kay" Kathleen Hardy, of Princeton, B.C. following a brief illness. Born in Barrie, Ontario, April 17, 1925, Kay celebrated her 93rd birthday the day before falling ill. Well known and liked by the people in Princeton, she touched many lives over the years.

Kay is survived by daughters Nancy Aylen and Joyce Hardy, son Ralph Hardy, nine grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Hardy in 2004 and granddaughter, Janne Aylen in 1994. Kay will be missed by her sisters Dorothy Le Gear and Eva Kettle, as well as her long time partner, Bill Shane.

During WWII, Kay watched all of her brothers go off to war. November 1943, at the age of 18, Kay joined the Navy, and worked as a seamstress. She later met Walter Hardy. They were married in uniform during a Naval wedding in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

At the end of the war, they moved to B.C. where Walter started a business in Prince George. They were married almost 60 years at the time of his passing.
