Terry swung a leg over his horse for the final ride, November 15th 2021. Terry Wright was born May 2 1955 to Pat and Jean Wright in Penticton, BC. He was born tall : )
Terry in his younger years, was skier to the core. CSI certified, and a ski patrol for Manning Park; If it had snow on it he would ski it.
Then as life changes, so did his passion and he started bulldogging with his buddies. His logging truck sported the handle "Bulldogger" for many years. Terry won numerous titles in BC for Bulldogging. He was a member of the BC Rodeo team and he was the Cover Cowboy in the Calgary Herald.
Terry then met the love of his life Darcy (Croteau) and they married November 12 1981. Together they raised their children Orin and Shana Wright. He was very pleased when Orin became a heavy duty technician. Terry was happy to come and celebrate with Shana on her many adventures Elk Hunting. He was proud of their accomplishments and was happy to see them pursue their passions in life.
They traveled as a family, to many rodeos throughout BC and Washington. When he quit Bulldogging, he turned to team roping as his next passion. Like skiing, and dogging he excelled. Darcy became an expert timer as they hosted many jackpots at the ranch. Terry loved Arizona and enjoyed roping with good friends in the winter when time permitted.
He worked for Bryan Thompson when he first started driving truck. As years passed, he purchased three logging trucks and hauled logs. He later switched to low bedding, hauling for Jordie Cook.
As he started into retirement, he began to develop his artistic side, with amazing metal work and furniture crafted with old barn wood. He personally tore down barns, board by board. Shana was his sidekick in the design department on the plasma table.
Terry led a full life, he worked hard, played hard and laughed hard. He will be remembered for his wit, laughter, kindness, always willing to lend a hand. In the last few years he was determined to find the local Arrastras, unfortunately they are still undiscovered.
We have great family memories of the trips we took into Flat Top, Nicomen Lakes and Terry even made time for one trip in Kananaskis country.
Terry was predeceased by his parents and will be fondly remembered by his wife Darcy Wright nee Croteau, son Orin Wright (Hazel), daughter Shana (Bobby Nault), sister Cub Wright, extended family, Bryan Thompson, cousins and numerous friends.
One of the greatest people to bless this earth, now in heaven will reside. An amazing love for his family, friends and life which he proudly showed every day.
You will live on with us forever, even though you've been called away. We know we will be with you again, but until then you know how much you are dearly missed and loved.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in 2022
