March 21, 1931 - June 15, 2019
Hardin, Terrence 'Ted' passed away at Ridgewood Lodge in Princeton on June 15, 2019 at the age 88 years. He was born in Vancouver on March 21, 1931 and raised in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, but Princeton residents will remember Ted at his wholesale store which he owned and operated along with his wife of 61 years; Janet. Prior to that he was a telegrapher with CP Rail and later worked for Weyerhauser for many years.
Ted lived and worked in Princeton for 63 years. He loved and played sports. In his younger days he was a member of the boxing club, swam, played basketball, hockey, and was also a lifeguard. Ted played hockey until he was 80 years old and coached for many years while his children were growing up. He was very involved with local baseball as well as the Princeton Swim Club when his children were members. He competed in two Ironman Triathlons; one at 60 and again at 63 years of age. He placed first in the 60 and over category his first time out.
Ted will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife; Janet Hardin, his children; Corrie Hardin (Lorne Esselink), Jim Hardin (Carol Esselink), Elizabeth Hardin-Dreger (Jamie Dreger), and nine grandchildren; Robert Cormack, Jason Cormack, Taylor Esselink, Jacinda Esselink, Eric Hardin, Clark Esselink, Tyler Dreger, Trent Dreger, and Isabella Dreger.
