Susan Elaine Patry (née Harvey)

It is with deep sadness that the family of Susan Elaine Patry (Harvey) share her sudden passing on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022 at the age of 79 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 54 years, Andre Patry; her five children, Lance, Linette (Rob), Mark, Natalie (Adam), Nelson (Danielle); and thirteen grandchildren, Austin, Justin, Katelyn, Cassidy, Sheyla, Taylor, Eva, Mahlia, Levi, Scarlett, Emma, Westyn, and Kacey. She is survived by her sister, Judy Porter, of Indiana, and nieces and nephews (Steve, Della, Krissy, Eddie).
Susan was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 29th, 1942 to the late Francis and Edna Harvey. Susan lived a life supporting and encouraging those around her. She studied psychology and social work at Indiana State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (1964) and a Master of Arts degree (1968). Her spirit and compassion for others led her to a career as a social worker, clinical counsellor, and later, a school psychologist with School District 58. Susan was actively involved in the Princeton community, serving on many committees centered around providing essential support to members of the community. A life-long learner, and a dedicated professional, she continued to engage in workshops and training to further her skills in counseling. She had an interest in politics and served as a member of the Citizens Assembly, providing recommendations for electoral reform in BC.
A woman with immense stamina and a passion for serving others, she continued to operate their family-owned guest ranch business with her husband Andre and son, Mark. She took pride in maintaining their lodge, preparing delicious, healthy meals for guests, and enjoyed the diverse conversations with guests they hosted. She was a person of many talents and interests and a sense of pride that never tripped her journey. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by those who were fortunate to have crossed her path.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 29th, her 80th birthday, at AP Guest Ranch (4220 Hwy 5A, Merritt, BC) from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
