Powell, Sonja Ann
January 31, 1939 - November 3, 2009
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and devoted wife.
After a courageous two year battle with breast cancer, Sonja passed away in the Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton on November 3, 2009. She was a loving wife to Jack for 52 years, a devoted mother to Debbie (Jim) of Summerland, B.C. Corrine (Ed) of Princeton, B.C., Arnie (Lori) of Princeton, B.C. and Kim (Joe) of Abbotsford, B.C. and a loving grandmother to Orrin, Cole, Jessie, Travis, Blair, Joe and Justin as well as a wonderful Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Sonja will be remembered as a person who loved her family and her animals. Everyone loved her gentle nature and warm smile. Horse Racing was a big part of her life as well as participating in the logger sports at the Fall Fair and she was a tough competitor in the horse shoe competitions. She loved to draw, especially horses and wrote some wonderful poems.
