GOODFELLOW , Christina Ruth Beecham
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Goodfellow on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, in Princeton General Hospital, with Eric at her side, at the age of 80 years. Ruth, a resident of Princeton for 61 years, loved to travel, enjoyed knitting, especially socks, crocheting, cooking and baking. She was also a great seamstress.
Ruth was a past member of Dorcas Circle – United Church Catering group, Princeton Old Age Pensioners Branch #185 and a past member of the Ladies Orange Benevolent Assn. (LOBA). She operated the Totemaway Drive-In (1961 – 1971) in Tulameen, with the assistance of Jane and Chris. Ruth will be lovingly missed by her husband Eric of Princeton, whom she married in 1951, son Christie (Penny) of Princeton, son-in-law Tony (Patricia) Muller of Lake Country, one brother Jack Peebles of Mission and by many nieces and nephews. Sadly, Ruth was predeceased by her parents Charles and Jane Peebles, five of her siblings and by her daughter Jane Muller in 2006.
A Celebration of Life Service was held 2:00pm, Tuesday October 5, 2010 at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall Branch # 56, Princeton, officiated by Peter Withers. Reception following.
Private interment at Princeton Cemetery.
