Nora passed away peacefully in Ridgewood Lodge on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
Nora is survived by her loving husband, Ken, of 71 years; her son, Randall (wife Anita); two granddaughters, Elysa (Zoha) and Breanna; her sister, Mary Patricia White; nieces Aeriol & Jocelyn Alderking, Annie Baker, Vickie Gamble. And many more loving extended family members.
Nora was pre-deceased by her father, William White; her mother, Ruby Peterson; her brother, Bill White; her grandson, Mathew Jones; nieces, Audrey White & Lyza O'Neale.
Nora was born in Ponoka, Alberta. She had an older brother, Bill and a younger sister, Mary Patricia. Nora moved to Penticton, with her family, as a child. She graduated high school from Penticton Secondary.
As a young woman, Nora moved to Hedley, where she worked in the office of the Nickel Plate Mine and soon met the love of her life, Ken. Nora and Ken got married in the Penticton United Church and were the first couple to hold their reception on the "Sicamous" PaddleWheeler on September 10, 1952.
After they got married, they moved to the Lower Mainland. Their son, Randall, was born in September 1956. Nora and Ken retired and moved to Princeton in 1987. Nora had a love of music and played piano, accordion, and sang.
Nora's zest for travelling fulfilled her sense of adventure and brought her to many destinations worldwide. Nora loved having garden parties, dinners, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Princeton United Church and sang in the choir.
Nora and Ken shared a love of the outdoors and dogs. They raised Brittany Spaniels and enjoyed many wonderful years of involvement in field trials.
Ken, Randall and Anita have hearts filled with gratitude and thankfulness for the compassion, kindness, and love shown to Nora by Dr. Monro, the nurses and staff at Princeton General Hospital and Ridgewood Lodge.
Rest in peace, dearest Nora. Until we meet again...
