In Loving Memory of Dr. James M. Plecash who passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024 At the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Jim was born on November 7,1932 in Princeton, B.C. to Eli and Margaret Plecash. He attended UBC and the University of Alberta, where he excelled academically and formed lifelong friendships.

He dedicated his life to the practice and teaching of dentistry and was awarded the U of A Dental Alumni Association (DAA) Outstanding Achievement Award - the highest award they bestow.

Prior to his retirement in 1999, he held many positions in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, including Assistant Dean, Clinical Director, Chair of Oral Diagnosis and Director of Patient Management.

Outside of work, Jim enjoyed building radio-controlled model aircraft, renovating his home, fishing with his old classmates, and watching old movie westerns.

Jim will be deeply missed by his loving family, including wife Barbara, son Ross (Janice), and grandchildren Danni (Paul Swanson), Jenny (Mehdi Daifi), and Leah, by his extended family, his friends and colleagues, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation.
