Donald Scott Miller passed peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, Dec. 7th, 2023, at the age of 70 years in Princeton, BC.
Don was born in Saskatoon, SK on Dec 28, 1952, and spent his first 17 years in Davidson, SK. Don received his BSc and Teaching Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan.
While teaching at the University, Don met his future wife Elaine. They married on Sept. 6, 1975.
Don and Elaine moved to Choiceland, SK where Don taught high school. 'In need of a change, Don and Elaine moved to Prince Albert, SK where Don started working for a finance company. Don was transferred to Edson, AB and he started to work at Luscar Sterco (1977) Ltd., a company he stayed with for over 25 years. All four of his children were born while there.
In 2003, Don and Elaine purchased a small riverfront property in Princeton, BC. They moved there the following year, built their dream home and Don retired.
In 2011, growing weary of retirement, Don went to work at Copper Mountain Coal Corporation.
While in Edson, Don was a member of the Kinsmen Club, Edson Soccer Association and Boy Scouts of Canada. After moving to Princeton, Don joined the Princeton Volunteer Fire Dept. and enjoyed many years' service with them. He was also a member of the Lions club. Don was an avid curler, ball player and golfer. Don's lifelong love of scuba diving took Don and Elaine to various spots around the globe.
Don will be met in heaven by family members who have gone before - His father Vern, mother Gladys, brother Grant, sister Jean, father-in-law Cecil, mother-in-law Lillian, and brother's-in-law Rennie, Brian and Kenneth.
Don will be remembered and missed by his wife Elaine, children Brett, Delee (Ryan), Kira and Keisha and by his many friends and co-workers.
There will be a Celebration of Life on May 18, 2024.
