Two people were injured, and a woman was thrown down a cliff, after an off road vehicle accident Saturday evening.

The accident occurred about 8:30 p.m. around the 12 kilometre mark of Placer Service Road off Highway 3, according to RCMP Corporal Chad Parsons.

“Two females were riding in a side-by-side. They appeared to be driving down the road and hit some rocks in the middle of the road.

“They lost control of the ATV and went through some bushes, which ended up throwing both the riders,” said Parsons. “One of them ended up 30 feet down a cliff.”

Princeton police, ambulance, highway rescue and ground search and rescue all responded.

Parsons said the woman on the cliffside had severe hip and back pains, and was in and out of consciousness when responders were on the scene.

The other rider had a swollen knee.

Both women were taken to hospital for treatment.

Parsons said there appeared to be no other contributing factors to the accident.
