People interested in learning more about the Town of Princeton’s proposal to build a indoor pool, aquatic and wellness center are encouraged to attend one of two open houses being held today at Riverside Center.

The open houses take place from 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 to p.m.

These events offer the first opportunity for residents to get a look at details of the pool feasibility study completed early this year.

The town is proposing a $27 million facility, to be located on Bridge Street on the former Overwaitea property.

The center would include a swimming and leisure pool, as well as meeting rooms and an indoor walking track.

Under the town’s plans, $11 million would come each from the provincial and federal governments and the municipality would be responsible for $5 million of the project’s capital costs.
