The Okanagan sky dazzled as lightning struck for the first time this year.
Lightning could be seen all throughout the Okanagan, from Vernon to Princeton on Thursday night (May 18). Environment Canada confirmed to Black Press that there were 6,850 in the Okanagan region in a 24 hour span. 1,191 of those strikes were in a 50 kilometres radius in Kelowna.
For many people, lightning provides them with a great photo opportunity.
The Okanagan will get a break from thunderstorms on Friday, but there is a 60 per cent chance of thunder and lightning on Saturday, May 20.
