Recently I had the opportunity to pick up a couple of Similkameen Valley and area maps at city hall.

These maps are printed on 11 by 17 inch paper and are very well done.

It appears there is a Similkameen Valley Planning Society that has put this map together and also that council would likely have been involved in this promotion. Whoever put these maps together has done a good job to promote Princeton and area. However – a glaring omission of ATVs.

Listed on one side are top 10 experiences. I will bet anyone that only number eight, (fishing) and 10, (winter sports) even come close to the number of tourists riding ATVs in the Princeton area.

Listed on the other side are 19 items on a legend with corresponding icons on the map showing where these activities take place in the area surrounding Princeton. It’s unbelievable not to have ATVing included there as a primary activity.

The tourists arriving in the Princeton area with ATVs and snowmobiles dominate Area H and have deep pockets. Princeton council would do well to make sure that the Similkameen Valley Planning Society includes ATV riding in their promotions.
