A proposal is brewing that could see the development of a downtown market in Princeton.

There are no details available about the project at this time.

“It’s in the works and I can’t say anything other than that,” said Mayor Spencer Coyne.

Coyne said no information will be released until council has a chance to look at the plan, likely at its next meeting.

Last spring an local entrepreneur attempted to launch a downtown Sunday farmers’ market.

Solitaire Steele was unable to get enough vendors to commit to get the enterprise off the ground.

Princeton CAO Lyle Thomas said the idea “sounds very interesting” and could be a way to promote downtown tourism.
