BC United has set a date for its nomination selection meeting in the Shuswap riding for the provincial election in October.
The Candidate Selection Meeting (CSM) for the Salmon Arm-Shuswap BC United Riding Association will be held on Saturday, March 9, in Salmon Arm at the 5th Avenue Senior’s Centre (170-5th Ave. SE).
Candidate speeches start at 9:30 a.m. Voting will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are four approved candidates on the ballot:
• Linda Hawes;
• Allysa Hopkins;
• Greg McCune;
• Jay Simpson.
Every member of BC United Party who is a member of the Salmon Arm-Shuswap Riding Association has the right to attend the meeting, and is considered an eligible voter if the member:
• is present at the meeting;
• is a member of the party as of Friday, Feb. 23, at 4:30 p.m.;
• has paid the fees and complied with the procedures set under Section 7.9(f) of the Constitution;
• has not voted at another candidate selection meeting held for the same election.
Please remember to bring proper identification (proof of age for youth). Acceptable Identification:
• Two pieces of ID, one photo, one with his/her address. (Examples of acceptable photo ID is a B.C. driver’s licence, passport, government issued ID or a student card from a recognized educational facility). The address must match the address on the membership list. (Examples of acceptable ID are driver’s licence, tax notice, voter ID card, utility bill, etc.);
• If you have a change of address sticker from ICBC or BC Services, you will be required to provide an additional piece of ID to verify your address. Examples of acceptable ID are tax notice, utility bill, federal or provincial government-issued mailings.
Screenshots will not be accepted for address verification, membership cards, or mail issued by the party office as proof of a person’s address.
