Calgary, Alberta - An Amber Alert was issued in the both the provinces of Alberta and BC today in an effort to locate Talisha and Taya Meisel, and their biological mother, Trina Meisel.
The children were abducted from the Brandt Christian School in Brandt, Alberta on the morning of May 12. Trina does not currently have legal guardianship of the children.
The RCMP investigation indicates that the mother and daughters are travelling in BC and may be heading towards the Lower Mainland/Vancouver Island-area.
Trina and her children were last seen in Golden, BC, where they were spotted on the afternoon of Monday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. BC time. They are believed to be travelling in a 2007 black Honda CRV, Alberta license plate ORNRSE.
Insp. Tony Hamori, Officer-in-Charge of Major Crimes in southern Alberta issued a public plea today, encouraging Trina to contact local authorities.
“We’re very concerned for the well-being of Talisha and Taya, and their mother, Trina,” said Insp. Hamori, “All anyone wants is to locate the girls and their mom – and to know that they are safe. That’s the most important thing right now.”
Since the beginning of this investigation, the Alberta RCMP has been communicating extensively with all police forces in western Canada since in an effort to locate Trina and her children.
The public is asked to contact 911 if they have any information or have seen Talisha and Taya, and their mother Trina Meisel.
