A 2.6 kilometer trail has been restored along the west side of Allison Lake by members of the Princeton Sierra Suppression Crew.
They have constructed a walking bridge within the Allison Lake Provincial Park picnic area. The bridge leads to a beautiful hike that heads north on a bench above the lakeshore and continues along giving great views of the lake. There will be another bridge constructed on the north end of the trail when water levels subside later this fall.
For now, people can enjoy the trail by accessing it from the park picnic area. The 5.4 kilometer round trip moderate rated hike will take roughly 2 hours to enjoy.
Work done in May included:
- 59 identified danger trees were fell along the trail
- 2 wooden log benches were constructed
- a bridge at the south end within the Allison Lake Park was constructed with most materials on site
Bridge decking was milled at camp. Railing donated by Keith Later of Princeton Post & Rail branches was trimmed, windfall was bucked and cleared along trail tread was raked to remove loose rocks in may sections
