In the match up against the Wranglers on Dec. 15, Evans set up two goals, including the game-winner by Owen Dewitt in a 9-2 final. He is currently fourth in the KIJHL with 40 points in 27 games, and is second among all league rookies, coming in just behind his linemate Dewitt who has 41 points in 28 games.

Joining Evans among the Stars is Colton Fleming of the North Okanagan Knights, who was named Top Defenceman. The Salmon Arm local notched three goals and one assist in three games to help the Knights take wins over the Osoyoos Coyotes and Kelowna Chiefs. In the 4-1 win over the Coyotes on Dec. 13, Fleming netted a hat trick, which included the winning goal. Against the Chiefs in a 2-1 victory on Dec. 16, he assisted on the first goal and finished with a plus-three rating. In 21 games, Fleming has 15 points to lead the Knights’ blue-line.

Rounding out the 3 Stars is Luke Roberts with the Chase Heat as the Top Goalie. The St. Albert, Alta., native helped the team defeat the Columbia Valley Rockies 4-1 on Dec. 15 with 38-save performance. That included blocking 16 in the second for .974 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average. Roberts earned his first win in his league debut when the Knights faced off against 100 Mile House on Sept. 30. Since then, Roberts now has four wins in 10 games with a 3.66 GAA (goals against average) and a .898 SP (save percentage).
