Peter Pine is one of Princeton's most beloved characters.

Princeton's mascot, Peter Pine, was created in 1983 as the mascot for Princeton, BC, Canada.

Peter is of mixed heritage as his father is a pine, and his mother is a fir/spruce. He looks like his mother, carries his father's name, and has many siblings in the forests of the Similkameen Valley. Peter leads an exciting life. In 1989, the Grad class held him hostage until he received his own Grade 12 diploma. This was arranged and he was returned to the town. Once again in the 1990's he was missing, but was found swimming in the Similkameen River. He was "spruced up", and is once again representing Princeton in parades and around town at official functions.
