The children of the Lower Similkameen Indian Band and the Ntamtqen snma?maya?tn Band School were recognized with one of several prizes for the Light Up Parade.
Chief Keith Crown also received the People’s Choice Award for the parade.
First prize for youth, sponsored by K Mountain Auto, was won by the Shaynna Poirier family.
Second prize, sponsored by Keremeos Home Hardware was won by the Amber Bond family.

Best Theme for the parade, which for this year was Friends and Family, went to the South Similkameen Museum.
Best Overall in the parade, sponsored by Westland Insurance, was won by the Keremeos Pharmasave.
It was not an easy competition with close to 25 entries in the Dec. 4 parade, a highlight of the holidays after a brief hiatus in 2020.
