Fun Fact: It’s a new month and June is Pride Month and Indigenous Heritage Month.

British Columbia and Ontario were the first provinces to legalize same-sex marriage, back in 2003. Same-sex marriage was legalized across Canada in 2005.

In British Columbia, there are currently around 200,000 Indigenous people and more than 200 district First Nations, each with their own history and traditions. More than 30 First Nations languages and also 60 dialects are spoken in the province.

In 1638, the first earthquake in the United States is recorded.

In 1935, driving tests and license plates are introduced in the United Kingdom.

In 1968, Helen Keller died at age 87.

In 1969, tobacco commercials are banned on television and radio in Canada.
