Summerland Ladies Club
On Tuesday, Aug. 13, the Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club counted the Low Gross and Low Net scores.
First flight: First low gross; Carol Mulligan, 89; second low gross Linda Brussee, 94; first low net (tie) Vijai Vaagen and Lil Smith, 74.
Second flight:First low gross Monika Taylor, 96; second low gross Pat Gartrelll, 98; first low net Diana Leitch, 71; second low net (tie) Norma Chambers and Ellen Clay, 73.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, the Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club played TT’s and FF’s. In this game, one counts the holes that begin with T or F (i.e. two three four five etc.). The score was then doubled and the handicap was subtracted to determine the net results.
First flight: First Vijai Vaagen. 67; second Carol Mulligan, 69; third Frances Colussi, 71.
Second flight: First (tie) Janis Goll and Lynne Karaim, 65; third Barb Oleschuk, 67.
Summerland Senior Men
On Aug. 22, the Summerland Senior Men played a team format called yellow ball in which one member of each team was designated to count regardless of their score.
Results: The winning team with 95 points was Joe Beggs, Gulbag Hans, Dave Cain and Bob Fortune. In second place with 88 points were Dennis Glasscock, Bob Dickeson, Chuck Harman and Old Man Par. Third, with 87 points were Al Thomas, Bob Tamblyn, Alf Vaagen and Barry Wicker. Fourth place with 82 points went to Doug Steinke, Bob Houston, Jerry McKenna and Ken Blower.
Stu Macaulay had the only deuce.
