Princeton volleyball team dominated at Kamloops tournament

Rapids team dominates with athleticism and height

The Princeton Secondary School women’s Rapids volleyball team has been dominating in volleyball action.

At the recent KSA Single A volleyball tournament in Kamloops, the Princeton team swept all of their games to win the tournament. This included facing strong teams from Kamloops and Kelowna.

“The girls have been playing very well this year,” said Kyle MacMurchy, coach of the team. “We’ve been competing very well against some larger schools.”

The team is nearing the end of its regular season and preparing for the Okanagan championships, where MacMurchy believes they will have a good chance.

While the team has showed tenacity and dedication this season, MacMurchy said there are other factors contributing to their success on the volleyball courts.

The players are strong athletes, and they have a height advantage, he said.

He has coached some of the players since they were six and seven years old, and during that time, he has seen them hone their playing skills.
