Princeton U15 Posse capture gold medal at Vernon tournament

Local minor hockey squad dominates in North Okanagan

One of Princeton's six minor hockey squads returned to the Similkameen last week as champions.

The U15 Posse captured gold at the 2025 U15 Recreation Winter Classic Tournament in Vernon on Jan. 12.

On the heels of winning four straight tournament games, Princeton's minor hockey team thumped Trail 7-2 in the championship contest.

The U15 Posse toppled Vernon twice — by the scores of 2-1 and 8-2, respectively — before overwhelming Chase 6-1 and West Kelowna 11-2 en route to the gold-medal game.

The team is coached by Monty Ross and Keith Skibo.

Hosted by the Greater Vernon Minor Hockey Association, the tournament featured teams from across the province.
