The Princeton Posse continued to showcase why they are the top team in the KIJHL, by winning in back-to-back road contests over the Halloween weekend.
In their first game of the weekend, Princeton knocked off the Spokane Braves 7-0, on Friday, Nov. 1.
Carson Hebert and Matthew Langdon scored 26 seconds apart in the game's first minute, giving Princeton all the offense it needed.
Herbert found the back of the net in the third period and was joined by Bryton Morrow, Jalen McRae, Justice Loewen and Jace Shuttleworth as the other Posse goal scorers.
The first-place club scored five goals in the third, all on the power play.
Posse goaltender Gibson Horne made 30 saves to record his first shutout of the 2024-2025 KIJHL season.
Then, on Saturday, the Posse fended off a game Beaver Valley Nitehawks squad, scoring three unanswered to win 3-2.
Hosted in Fruitvale, the hometown Nitehawks jumped ahead in the first with back-to-back power-play markers.
Princeton would wrangle one back in the second, as Jeffrey Stewart scored his third of the season, off helpers from Matthew Langdon and Tyson Horiachka.
In the final frame, Brennan Watterson's unassisted marker knotted the game up at two before a late power-play from the Posse led to the game winning goal, off the stick of Horiachka.
The Posse got stellar goaltending from Blake Sittler, who made 38 saves for his eighth win of the year.
Princeton (14-1-0-1) has a commanding lead atop the Bill Ohlhausen Division, as it sits nine points ahead of second-place Revelstoke, as of Nov. 3.
The division's top two teams will meet on Friday, Nov. 8, from the Princeton and District Arena.
Princeton is led offensively by Langdon, who has 18 goals and 31 points in 15 games. Rookie forward Will Bell, 20, is second team scoring with 17 points.
After hosting Revelstoke on Friday, the Posse will hit the road and gear up to battle the 100 Mile House Wranglers on Saturday, Nov. 9.
