Ten teams decked-out in Hawaiian wear took part in the second annual mixed curling bonspiel held at the Princeton Curling club from Jan. 20 to 22.

The A Event winner was the Mike Freeman rink from Mission with skip Mike Freeman, third Sherry Freeman, second Jason Krause and lead Debbie Krause.

They defeated the Tom Steele rink from Penticton.

The Don Ibey rink from Princeton won the B Event, with skip Don Ibey, third Darlene Ibey, second Ivan Low and lead Linda Low.

They defeated the Shirley Campbell rink from Princeton.

The Gerry Cooper rink from Princeton lost the C Event to the Wayne Anderson rink from Princeton, with teammates skip Wayne Anderson, third TJ Bratt, second Ken Johnson and lead Margie Johnson.

A hawaiian theme was picked this year to bring some warmth to Princeton’s cold winter.

“I think my green hair probably threw them off,” said Don Ibey, who doned a neon green wig and a multi-coloured flower lei.

He expects the curling show-down to continue to be an annual event because of the success it had this year.
