Fundraising super stars Eric Holland and Kiaira Anderson had their turn throwing pies at swim team captain Emily Allison and Coach Jon Davies as part of the deal whereby swimmers who raised over $100 for the Kokanee Summer Swim Club were given a whip cream pie to toss.

Swimmers who achieved this and threw a pie were Emily Allison, Charlie Allison, Kate Allison, Ashlin White and Colton White.  The coaches got their last assault on Thursday evening by Kiaira Anderson and Eric Holland.  The team swam over 42 kilometres and raised over $1300 to assist with team expenses.  Way to go Kokanees.

Swimmer of the Meet

Black and Blue Meet: The Kokanees held their own Black and Blue Meet in June.  This club fun meet is often the first ever chance at racing for a majority of our swimmers.  The Kokanees were divided into two teams (one black and one blue) and they competed in all the regular swim meet races.  This year when all the points were tallied the Blues had won.  Eric Ogrinc and Dylan Adams had fantastic swims and earned the honour of Swimmers of the Meet.  Twenty-seven Kokanees attended this meet.

Lumby Invitational – The Kokanees sent four swimmers to the Lumby Invitational Meet on June 18 & 19.  Emily Allison earned 100 per cent best times in all of her swims and even won some of her heats, which earned her the honour of Swimmer of the Meet. Nicholas Cimbaro, Charlie and Kate Allison also attended.

Swimmers of the Meet receive a certificate and surprise fruit decorated by their coach.
