They’ve been working hard to get it open, and on Thursday, the Eagle Chair at Baldy Mountain Resort was open for its first full day.

There are two groomed, easy runs down via Stemwinder and Southridge. Baldy advises skiing with caution as there will be unmarked obstacles off of the groomed runs. They’re also warning of possible snow sharks lurking beneath the surface requesting you stay on the runs and not risk an injury over the holidays.

Baldy will is open seven days a week through Jan. 7, then returns to their regular Thursday to Monday operating schedule until spring break.

Besides the Eagle Chair Trimble, the Sugarlump Quad is open, with access to Beaver Trail, Fairweather and the Magic Carpet area along with Hulton’s Hollow, Wizard and Jones, Tenning’s Trail, MacLeod’s, Fenwick-Wilson’s Prospect.

Off the slopes, children’s entertainer Mat Duffus is performing on Dec. 29, 30, 31.
