Why I am voting NO!

I’m voting no for a few reasons. First, I would like to say I have 12 grand kids and live on a fixed income also.

Causing financial stress

We live in a time of perceived “entitlement”. Many believe that because they are good people and work hard, they are entitled to get what they want. While it would be wonderful to live in a world like this, reality is quite different.

It’s a pity!

The proposal to build a new swimming pool for Princeton and the Regional District seems to have got a lot of people really fired up.

Have we learned enough, or will it happen again?

The events of September 11, 2001 were tragic. The day will always be remembered for the lives lost and the heroics of the first responders who selflessly gave their lives.

We’re still in this

“We’re still in this.” Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said this after finding out that some rescue workers at the horrific scene of New York city’s Twin Towers collapse, in an act of defiance and patriotism, erected the American flag. Many lives ended on September 11. What has unfolded in the ten years since the terrorist attacks has been nothing short of unbelievable.

I see swimming in my future

I just want to say thank you to the Aquatic Centre Committee. Over the summer while I was out enjoying community events with my family, the pool committee was away from their family trying to provide people with information about the aquatic centre and voting process.

B.C. Liberals, playing a risky game of chance

We should have been in shock when we found out how much money the top public employee executives were making, but sadly most of us weren’t. We were a little sick to our stomachs when we learned that 10 people made over 7 million dollars combined. If you add that to the executives making less than half a million a year, you have to wonder just how much the top public executives are really making.

I am anonymous

“Remember when you see a man at the top of a mountain, he didn’t fall there.” This is an anonymous quote. Anonymous quotes can be beautiful. Good ones inspire as do good people.
Tough sales tax choices remain

Tough sales tax choices remain

Switching sales taxes isn't as simple as Bill Vander Zalm believes. There are already thousands of businesses that have never had to collect it, and thousands more who didn't anticipate having to go back to the PST.
Jack Layton dreams of respect for all

Jack Layton dreams of respect for all

Hope and optimism were the two words used most to describe fallen NDP leader Jack Layton at his service on Saturday. In the last year of his life, Layton reached a new height politically. He ran his race for Prime Minister with a dignity not often exemplified in today’s political world.
