A vote for health

It is with some relief that the time for the vote for the pool has finally dawned, so that we can move on to other pastures. I am surprised at the amazing amount of emotion that has been attached to something that to me (as a health professional) is really quite clear cut. I have not met a single person who does not agree that the pool is a great idea, but then that word “but” comes into play with a certain percentage of people only.

So many un-answered questions?

What is Going On? Does the Mayor want a New Pool? He appoints a Committee to “Determine the FACTS”

RE: Tim Hall’s letter

I refer to Tim Hall’s letter which appeared in your last edition of the paper and I thank him for his eloquence and comments. As a citizen of this community which includes Princeton Town and Princeton Rural (Area H), I have been proud to serve on the Aquatic Centre Committee. My colleagues and I were mandated to search out and pass on to the Citizens of both communities as much information as possible to ensure that the results of the upcoming referendum would be based on a sound knowledge base.

Delayed or postponed

As a full time resident of Area H, I for one, and I am sure not the only one, have nothing but praise and admiration for the job our representative Brad Hope has and is doing. Brad has given up his home and private life to look out for our best interests. Brad came to us to inform us of the upcoming referendum for the “Aquatic Center” in July.

So what are they afraid of?

On September 17, 2011 hundreds if not a thousand or more people marched into New York’s financial district for a peaceful protest. The Mayor of New York had police block off Wall Street to prevent the planned Occupy Wall Street movement. #Occupywallstreet as it is known on Twitter is about many things to many people, but the underlying message is reform of Wall Street and an end to corporate welfare.

A heartfelt thank you to the community

On August 30, I lost a substantial amount of cash. I wrote a letter to the Editor to ask that the person or persons who found it, to have a heart and turn it in to the Spotlight for me.

Live within means

Having recently read the latest edition of the Similkameen Spotlight I am compelled to write and express my shock at the one sided sensationalized journalism displayed therein. Obviously, the concept of balanced reporting is not a concept endorsed by your editorial board.

A cute trick

On Monday, September 12th, every Princeton Postal Box holder received a mailing, addressed to the Box holder, titled IMPORTANT POOL INFORMATION! Within the unmarked envelope, was a letter, on plain stationary! Though not under any official letterhead, at first glance the letter most obviously intended the reader to assume an official connect to Princeton Town Council and the RDOS.

Hospital closure

Monday night on CTV News from Vancouver, they had a story about the ER in Princeton being closed for the day. So, where was the nearest hospital? One hour away in Penticton.

The letter of dismissal from Regional Director Hope

This is to advise you that it is with regret that I am, as of this date, replacing you as Regional District Alternate Director for Area H. My decision to make this change comes about as a result of our divergent views on the process of the upcoming Princeton Aquatic Center Referendum.
