March 5, 1943 - December 10, 2022
In loving memory ~
Our dearly loved family patriarch, Ronald "Ron" Murdoch Taylor passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 10th, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; his two children, Jim (Felicia), Tara (Donny); his five beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Molly, Casey, Luke, Kaden; and his dog, Franny. He was predeceased by his parents, Vi and Cyril "Squibb" Taylor.
Ron was born in Penticton, B.C. on March 5th, 1943. Captain Ron Taylor started his 40+ year career as a pilot in the late 1960's cutting his teeth flying float planes on the rugged west coast of British Columbia. He joined West Coast Air in 1973 which eventually became Air BC and then Air Canada Jazz, where he moved on to fly the larger airline planes in his 35 years of service with them.
A true cowboy at heart, Ron had an unmatched love of animals. He will be remembered for his strength of character, quick wit, a fierce protectiveness of those he loved and his ability to fight back against adversity.
Ron will be laid to rest with his parents in Brookmere, B.C., where he lived for much of his childhood and had so many happy memories. There will be no service by request of the family and out of respect for Ron who never wanted to be the center of attention. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the B.C. SPCA.
