Miller, Robert Elwood

June 27, 1926 – January 2, 2011


Robert Miller was born June 27, 1926 in Princeton, B.C., and unexpectedly passed away in Penticton Regional Hospital on January 2, 2011.

Bob was raised in Allenby and Princeton, where he joined the Grandby Mining Company. The mining industry took him and his family to Greenwood, Granisle, Tasu and Tungsten before he retired to Telkwa. Later, they moved back to Princeton to be closer to family.

Bob was very active in the Masonic Lodge as well as an alderman on the Greenwood Council and a councillor in Telkwa. He enjoyed woodworking, drawing, fishing, poetry and was an avid history buff. Sadly, Bob was predeceased by Lorraine, his wife of 57 years, sisters; Jean, May, Louise and by his brother Wilfred.

He is survived by his children; Andy, Dianne, Robert and Joanne Miller, grandchildren; Jennifer, Robert and Joshua Miller, Alexandra Holt and honorary granddaughter Caitlin as well as great-granddaughter Asha. Bob is also survived by his brother William (Connie) Miller, sister Beth (Jim) Norman as well as many nieces and nephews who were so kind to Lorraine and Bob (Mom and Dad) during their last years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m.,

April 30, 2011 at the Tulameen Hall in Tulameen, B.C.
