Joseph John Beausoleil

September 2, 2020

February 26, 1943 - September 2, 2020
Joseph John Beausoleil was born on February 26th 1943 to Felix and Lorraine Beausoleil and was the eldest of 8. He is survived by his sister Elaine (Gary) Newton, brother Len (Diana) Beausoleil, brother Stan (Lynn), sister Deanna Williamson (Denis) and sister Claire (Dan) Denomme.
He was predeceased by his infant brother Jeffery and infant sister Karen as well as his parents Felix and Lorraine Beausoleil.
All of Dads family lived in Ontario but one of his favourite cousins moved to Vancouver. Drena invited Dad and her brother Raymond for a visit and that is when Dad fell in love with beautiful British Columbia.
This is where he met our mother Sharon, (who was also born and raised in Ontario).
They got married in 1965 and shortly after moved to Princeton because of Jack French. They bought a piece of property on the Merritt highway just down the road from Jack and Helen and played at being cowboys.....Sharon and Joe had 3 children in quick succession Joseph Micheal Beausoleil, Stacey Ligtenberg (John) and Robert Beausoleil (Shanna Nelson). Dad made many friends between working(Weyerhaeuser), golfing, hunting, camping, playing hockey, flying, fishing, poker, crib, slow pitch and just meeting the guys to BS at the A&W. He also belonged to many clubs...the Fish and Game, Lions, Legion, the ATV club and so on...Princeton was his home and he loved being active in his community.
He made the most of his retirement, spending most of his time on the golf course, and playing poker or crib at the Legion. Dad was lucky enough to have 4 beautiful Grandchildren to spoil, Teagan and Niya Ligtenberg and Carter and Jenna Beausoleil.
Dad passed away in the Penticton hospital on September 2nd 2020 with family by his side and a visit from the man who introduced him to Princeton..Jack French and his wife Helen. He will be missed and never forgotten, but lives on through his Grandchildren. We will try and have a celebration of his life ASAP, but have the added problem of Covid to contend with.
RIP Dad xo
