Ian passed away September 09, 2010 at Ridgewood Lodge in Princeton, BC.

Born September 15, 1934 to Alex and Edith Neil in Woodside, Nova Scotia. At the age of 17 Ian enlisted in the Canadian Air Force as an Aero Engineer Technician, serving in Canada and Europe for 5 years. He then continued with his education while working in the aviation industry until 1967, when he was employed by CP Air. Ian travelled the world throughout his career and after 29 years with CP Air he retired. In 2005, Ian and Janet moved from Ladner BC to Princeton BC. Sadly, Ian is predeceased by his parents and sister-in- law Kathy Neil. He is survived by his wife Janet, of 45 years, son Robert (Kat) of Princeton, daughter Debbie (Fred) Bergsma, cherished granddaughter Karis Bergsma of Tulameen BC, sister Alice Roberts of Nanaimo BC, brother Bernard (Lydia) of Shawnigan Lake BC, his

aunt Jean Faulkner of Waverley Nova Scotia, numerous nieces and nephews, long time Air Force buddy Harry(Pet) VanSickle and family and by his 4 legged friend and companion ‘Rusty.’ Ian was an active member of the Canadian Air Force Association and in later years the Royal Canadian Legion. Ian enjoyed his travels throughout the world with work and his family, and spending time in the outdoors, canoeing, camping and walking with Rusty.

He will be deeply missed for his wit by all who knew and loved him.

A tribute to Ian’s life will be held at the

Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Princeton BC on September 25, 2010 at 1:00pm.
