March 27, 1938 - June 18, 2018
With sadness, on June 18, 2018, Ervin James Trombley (March 27, 1938) recently of Summerland, BC, passed away at Moog and Friends Hospice House having lost his battle with cancer.

He leaves behind his son Douglas (Nora) of Whitehorse, YK, his daughter Yvette of Peachland, BC, and granddaughters Melissa, Heather, and Sierra. He was predeceased by his son James (Jeannette) of Langley, BC.  Ervin is also survived by Judith in Osoyoos, BC, mother of Douglas and Tena in Summerland, BC, mother of James and Yvette.

Ervin spent his life in the Okanagan Valley of BC working in Oliver in the packing houses and orchards as a youth and then moving to Princeton where he worked in the mines as an equipment operator and driller for many years.

Over the years he acquired a significant amount of knowledge of the local history and also accumulated a variety of artifacts that represented the many moments of personal interaction with his environment and lifestyle.

Many trips were made up and down the highway from the Yukon to the coast to keep tabs on his family. After leaving Oliver, he ventured north to Telkwa, BC for a few years, enjoying his retirement before returning south to Summerland just a few years ago.

As per Ervin's request, there will be no services after cremation has taken place. A family get-together will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.

Ervin's family would like to acknowledge the professional and personal care provided to him by the staff at Moog and Friends, the support of the palliative care nurses and social worker and the limitless patience and understanding of the family physician. Many thanks to all of you for looking after our Dad.
