July 8, 1946 - November 17, 2021
We are devastated to announce the death of Dean Stinson, who passed away at Kelowna General Hospital on November 17, 2021.
Born on July 8, 1946 in Vancouver, Dean was raised on a ranch in the Nicola-Similkameen valley. After 3 years in the navy, Dean moved to Princeton where he lived and worked for the rest of his life. He was a successful logging contractor for many years before switching to real estate, which suited his great love of people and helping others.
A true force of nature and a big part of Princeton for over 50 years, Dean's commitment to community never wavered, be it as local sports announcer, minor league coach, councilman or charity auctioneer.
Dean is survived by his wife, Terry; his sons, Jason and Dallas; his brothers, Darrell and John and his beloved grandkids, Paul, Shannon, Hunter and Rosie. Dean enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren more than anything and lived his life to see them happy.
In lieu of a traditional funeral, a celebration of life will be held at a later, happier date.
He never despaired, never gave up and never stopped living life with passion. He will be missed.
