Rice , Daniel Lawrence
September 25. 1926 - June 2, 2011
It is with the deepest of sorrow that the family announce the passing of Daniel Lawrence Rice on June 2, 2011, at his home at Granite Creek near Coalmont, B.C. Dan was 84 years old, the 5th of 6 children born to Effie and Ernest Rice at Roany Creek where his nephew Ernie Rice now resides.
Dan had 5 children; Georgina, Leona (Ken) Brian, Albert (Lori) Jackie (Jesse), 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Dan is predeceased by his parents, all his siblings and by his daughter Georgina.
Dan was a sawyer, licensed scaler, rancher, trapper, prospector, welder, mechanic, fisherman, hunter, among many other interests. He loved music, playing his guitar and his singing made him many friends.
Dan married Grace in 1954 and the family followed. They lived in Granite Creek for 51 years, where they raised their family and resided until his passing.
The Service of Remembrance was held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Granite Creek.
