November 3, 1948 - June 15, 2025

It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Clifford Raymond Pelly on June 15, 2025, at Mariposa Gardens in Osoyoos.

Cliff was born in Chilliwack on November 3, 1948, but lived most of his life in Princeton. He grew up on the family ranch and following his high school graduation, worked for a short time at Manning Park before beginning his lifelong career in the logging industry. Initially, he drove a logging truck for his dad, soon became the owner/operator of the truck and then, in 1977, co-owner of Pelly Contracting Ltd. with his father. The company ceased operating in 2000, and Cliff continued his logging career with Jebway Contracting until his retirement in 2011.

Cliff and Lynn were married in 1970, Wade was born in 1971, and Tanya was born in 1973. Almost all their married life was spent out the Five Mile, either on, or close to, the original family ranch. They were married for 54 wonderful years. He was an incredible husband and father.

Cliff enjoyed outdoor activities and was a skilled skier and an avid motorcyclist. He loved to travel and was able to visit Norway, Switzerland, Italy, and Africa. Motorcycling through the Alps was one of his fondest memories, and trekking in Rwanda to see the gorillas was another. Motorcycle trips to Laguna Seca and weekend rides were also highlights.

Cliff was a great Dad and supported the kids through 4-H, soccer, baseball, ski trips, and summer jobs. He was so proud of the careers they chose and spent many happy hours sharing their experiences as they followed their paths, Tanya into policing and Wade into flying. He was certainly the fun parent, easy-going and a bit of a practical joker. He loved being a grandfather (G-Man to the grandkids because he said he was too young to be a grandfather) and a great-grandfather.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Lynn; his son, Wade (Krista); his daughter, Tanya; grandchildren, Bethany, Bree-Lynn, Ty, and Amy (Alex); and great-grandchildren, Lindy and Lyle; as well as a large extended family that he was close to. He was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Betty; his brother, Clark; his great-nephew, AJ; and his nephew, Jeff.

Cliff was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011 and went into care in 2018. It was a difficult journey for those who loved him, but he remained much the same as he always was, cheerful and easygoing, quick to laugh, and gentle in nature. We grieve his loss but know that he is now at peace. We are so grateful to the many friends and family who shared this difficult journey with us and made the road so much easier to navigate.

There will be no Memorial Service, but we ask that you take a moment to remember Cliff as he was and smile at the memories as they unfold. His was a life well-lived.
