Physicians say philanthropist, David Kampe, “single-handedly” changed patient care quality

Physicians at Penticton Regional Hospital are thanking David Kampe for his donations to the community that they said have “single-handedly” changed the quality of patient care.

“Most days I don’t know who feels more grateful to Mr. Kampe – my patients or my colleagues,” said Dr. Broder, Chief of Medicine at Penticton Regional Hospital. “What I do know is that he has single-handedly changed the quality of patient care in our community for generations to come – and Penticton Hospital’s medical departments couldn’t be happier.”

Kampe’s $7.9 million donation is pivotal to completing the expansion and acquiring a much-needed fixed MRI and Spect-CT at the hospital.

“Penticton now has access to the best possible equipment and technology, and we have the capacity to meet the needs of a growing and aging population,” said Dr. Brad Raison, Penticton Regional Hospital Chief of Staff. “This is exactly the kind of investment that transforms a good regional hospital to a great one.”

According to the physicians, the benefits of these new investments include reduced wait times and travel times for patients and an enhanced ability to recruit top-notch doctors and other key medical personnel to the community.
