A series of thefts in the Cawston and Olalla areas have police prompting residents to call RCMP if they see anything suspicious.
At least two ATVs have been stolen, an almost new RV trailer, and a number of smaller items from chainsaws, to lawnmowers and more.
“The culprits are lurking around properties in the evening and during the night hours,” Cpl. Brian Evans of the RCMP detachment said. “They’re going right into people’s properties and pushing these things out in the middle of the night.”
Evans said at least two people have reported seeing a suspicious black matte four-door pickup truck lurking around homes. The vehicle might be a Dodge or another make.
“Quite a few people have seen them. We just want people to call us right away if you see someone around at nigh or if you see someone coming in and out of someone’s property late at night. We have a better chance of catching people if we get a call,” he said.
Evans said the thefts have been occurring over the last 10 days or so and people should watch out for their neighbours property.
