It’s expected to be a busy spring break at Kelowna International Airport (YLW).

More than 120,000 passengers are expected to travel through the terminal building from March 13-30, according to a City of Kelowna media release.

Passengers are advised to plan in advance and prepare for longer than normal wait times. Daily anticipated passenger volumes, daily peak travel times and real-time parking lot capacity will be posted on the city’s website.

Travellers are also encouraged to check-in, pay fees, validate passport information, and retrieve boarding passes online to help speed up the experience at the airport. Passengers can also check their flight status online.

Parking may reach capacity over spring break. Travellers might want to consider taxis, ride shares, shuttles, public transit, or a drop-off. Valet parking can be booked in advance. Arrive at least two hours before departure for check-in and baggage drop-off. Check CATSA’s list of permitted items and airline baggage rules to avoid security issues.

More spring break travel tips are available on the city’s website.
