Spots are filling up fast for the newest location of YMCA Child Care at the Queen’s Park Elementary School.

The new facility is set to open March 4, offering full and part-time child care programs for kids up to 12 years old, preschool, spring and summer break camps.

A press release from YMCA stated the infant toddler and school age programs are already full, but there are still spots available for the three to five years care group.

“Offering safe and high-quality child care, the brand-new centre will feature indoor and outdoor spaces that use natural elements, including neutral wall colors, wood, plants, stepping stones, paths and more. Caring and dedicated staff will follow YMCA Playing to Learn, a national YMCA play-based curriculum that aligns with primary school benchmarks and will prepare your child for Kindergarten, while inspiring healthy activity and encouraging them to explore their individual interests,” stated the press release.

A financial assistance program is available to ensure the programs are accessible for everyone. Qualifying families can apply for financial assistance from the Y and the Affordable Child Care Benefit from the provincial government. Visit ymcaokanagan.ca for details
