Victoria’s Government House held some very special guests at the investiture ceremony for recipients of the Order of British Columbia in early October.  Among the guests were two very proud nominators.  Princeton Mayor Randy McLean and Jim O’Rourke’s daughter, Dana, flanked a man they saw as very deserving of the honour.

Jim O’Rourke is seen as a leader in the mining industry.  He has worked with mining operations in B.C. for 35 years.  His latest coup is of course the newly re-opened Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, B.C. which O’Rourke is president and CEO of.

O’Rourke was one of fourteen British Colombians who were given the province’s highest honour for contributing to the province in extraordinary ways.  “I am really appreciative,” stated O’Rourke.
