Proposed pipeline would run close to Princeton

The proposed Kingsvale-Oliver pipeline would run one to two kilometres from Princeton at its closest point.

The Similkameen Spotlight received information on exactly how far FortisBC's proposed Kingsvale-Oliver pipeline would be from Princeton.

The 161-kilometre pipeline would run along the east side of the valley near Princeton - One to two kilometres east of Princeton at its closest point.

The pipeline is part of a $440-million project that includes an extension of the FortisBC pipeline system near Yahk and building new compressor facilities near Kingsvale, Trail and Yahk.

FortisBC is proposing the pipeline to gain better access to new shale gas developments in northeast B.C.
