The Town of Princeton is expecting a payment of approximately $200,000 from the Vermilion Forks Community Forest Corporation for 2017.

According to Mayor Frank Armitage that was the estimate provided to the corporation’s partners at its November 29 meeting.

Equal amounts will be shared with Area H and The Upper Similkameen Indian Band.

“In view of the fires this year and the impact on the wood industry we’re very pleased with the results,” said Armitage.

The forest corporation manages the land and harvest rights to approximately 11,000 hectares surrounding Princeton.
