Beginning this week there are new operating hours for town hall.

The municipal office is now closed from noon to 1 p.m. so all staff can have a lunch break.

Departing CAO Rick Zerr told The Spotlight last week that the move is designed to ensure employees get a proper break during the day.

Previously town office staffers took turns covering lunch periods, and received time off in lieu every third Friday.

“It was getting hard to staff those Fridays,” said Zerr.

Zerr said how the new hours would affect the use of the Princeton courthouse once a month was yet to be determined.
